The goal of Penetration Test, also known as Ethical Hacking, is to determine if there are any vulnerabilities that could be exploited by either internal or external users. HiTRUST will assume the role of an employee, maintenance person or any person having access to client's corporate network to uncover its security weaknesses. This type of testing is designed to mimic an attack on the internal network by a disgruntled employee, an authorized visitor having standard access privileges, or an unauthorized intruder from the Internet.
HiTRUST performs the Penetration Test without the client supplying any network or account information such as username and passwords. Once an access to corporate network is established successfully, either through a physical or wireless connection, HiTRUST begins identifying security holes in various devises on the network, such as network servers, workstations, routers, firewalls, etc. A Vulnerability Assessment on the network would be performed in advanced to identify vulnerabilities and the Penetration Test would then be carried out based on the previous findings.
